MICRO CHEMIE BV
![]()
MICRO Chemie B.V. is a Company established in 2002, with the aim to develop a melamine production plant in Rozenburg, The Netherlands.
Having acquired an ammonia terminal, an urea plant and large units, MICRO Chemie has acquired the most important basis and infrastructure for the production of a world scale melamine plant. MICRO Chemie bought the units from Kemira GrowHow BV who in earlier times operated large fertilizer complex on the site. Part of the site has been sold to other companies or transferred to Kemira Chemicals BV , but MICRO Chemie operates all utility units for all other users on site and even in the neighborhood. These utility units are designed for a large fertilizer complex thus ample capacity is available for current and future users.
MICRO Chemie is aiming to buy ammonia in large quantities and store this ammonia into the large tanks. The ammonia is available for third parties either by pipeline, train, vessel, barge or vessels and the production of aqueous-ammonia solution for De-NOx-ing or other applications throughout Europe. The ammonia and aqueous ammonia therefore also will contribute as products to a reduction of the emission of greenhouse gasses, in this case NOx. The Ammonia terminal is operated on behalf of Kemira GrowHow. MICRO Chemie also operates an UAN terminal on behalf of Transammonia
MICRO Chemie will also operate the urea plant in order to produce liquid and solid urea. The solid urea will be a technical grade in pellets. The liquid urea will be a 32% urea solution in water which has a trade name AdBlue. AdBlue is used as De-NOx-ing agent for trucks and passenger car exhaust, thus, an environmental abatement product.
MICRO will also support potential co-siting companies willing to invest in new processes using ammonia in the Middle-Europoort/Rotterdam Chemical Cluster.
